WHAT IS 7SONG?

7SONG is the first medium of it’s kind- an entire telling of the Gospel, written entirely from scripture, in seven songs: Creation, Fall of Man, Advent, Life of Jesus, Death, Resurrection, Salvation. 7SONG allows people to HEAR the Bible in song. According to UNESCO approximately 773 million people cannot read (2020). Additionally- more than 70% of the world’s population ( 5.7 billion people) or are oral learners- meaning they learn by hearing rather than reading. 7SONG exists to reach people with the incredible news of Jesus in song- the Gospel they can HEAR, accessible and free. Our first phase of 7SONG is creating the soundtrack: a fully orchestrated cinematic soundtrack of the story of the gospel. From there? We share.

7SONG IS COMMITTED TO:

BIBLICAL TRUTH

7SONG was written with lyrics 100% from Scripture (WEB Version). We leave the interpretation to the hearer, presenting the foundation of Scripture as it was given. We weave narrative from both the old and new testament to create a seamless telling of the story of redemption. We have two Bible Scholars who serve as Scriptural advisors for this project.

BEAUTY

7SONG is meant to be experienced. We are on a journey to create a fully orchestrated cinematic-style soundtrack with world class producers and musicians that will serve as the base soundtrack for future recordings. 7SONG will be complemented by artistic expression in many forms: photography, fine art, immersive experiences, and spoken word. We strive to collaborate with other artists using what God has put in their hands to tell the story.

SHARING & ACCESSIBILITY

The Gospel is meant to be free, and it’s meant to be shared. The 7SONG soundtrack will be open-sourced so that others who wish to use this resource are able to at no cost. 7SONG will be translated into different languages-and sung by indigenous singers. Currently, 7SONG has been translated into Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese), Nepali, and American Sign Language.

CREATIVITY

The 7SONG Soundtrack is just the beginning for 7SONG & The Gospel in song. Already, we have created a Christmas touring concert that combines the first four songs of 7SONG with Christmas songs to tell the story of Christmas. Future plans include a children’s version of 7SONG, a guided musical meditation through Holy Week featuring Life, Death, and Resurrection from 7SONG, A live concert event featuring art and spoken word, and more.

how does 7song translation work?

After the initial recording in English- 7SONG will be translated and shared in as many languages as possible, through every medium and platform available including: live performance, digital streams, video, visual media, pre-loadable solar powered mp3 players for areas without electricity, and our 7SONG App (coming in the future!). This will be an ongoing endeavor, working with Bible translation organizations, and ministries and indigenous partners as methods of distribution evolve and grow.

PRODUCE: The original recording of 7SONG- in full orchestration that will serve as the soundtrack for every language.
TRANSLATE: 7SONG directly from already translated Bible in the native language of a region, by an indigenous translation partner.
RECORD: 7SONG in the native language of a region- by native singers, over the soundtrack of 7SONG, with consideration for ethnomusicology at the discretion of our regional partners.
DISTRIBUTE: On every available platform and media- introducing or reintroducing people, through music, to the greatest story ever told.
REPEAT: Until the whole world knows.

how is 7song free?

7SONG is an independent music project, meaning we have no music label or music industry company funding our efforts. This gives us full autonomy in being able to distribute 7SONG free of charge around the world. By churches hosting 7SONG concerts to support, and sharing 7SONG in the process, and by people choosing to support 7SONG- and pay it forward for others to hear 7SONG in their own language- we are able to keep 7SONG free of charge for all.

How do we distribute 7SONG?

In every way we can!
Live performance, digital streams and downloads, the 7SONG app, video and visual presentation, through Bible translating companies, missionaries, ministries and organizations working on the ground in every country, distribution will be an ongoing process as we expand 7SONG into translated languages and regions.

About our founder…

Laura Cooke has been writing songs and leading worship for 20 years. She served as the Worship & Creative Arts Director of Oral Roberts University where she received an MBA. She and has traveled & ministered in 36 countries. Laura’s passion is to use music to tell stories and see the Gospel be shared in every language around the world through song.
